Founder & Filmmaker
Dogwood Studioz is a North Carolina–based independent film production company founded by writer-director-editor Spencer Griffis. Built on a belief that cinematic storytelling should be thoughtful, human, and emotionally honest, the studio approaches every project with the same care – whether it's a personal short film or a brand story for a local business.
Spencer writes, directs, and edits his own work, with a background spanning narrative fiction, documentary, and visual storytelling. His debut short film, The Memory of You, established the studio's voice: layered, non-linear, and rooted in the quiet weight of human connection.
Based in North Carolina with active work across the region, Dogwood Studioz is currently expanding its portfolio and taking on select client projects alongside its original productions.
As a college student, Spencer brings a relentless drive for growth to every frame – continuously expanding his knowledge, sharpening his skills, seeking out meaningful experiences, and building connections with fellow creatives and collaborators who share a passion for storytelling.
